Features
Superior High-Temperature Oxidation Resistance: Withstands continuous service at 1200°C and intermittent use up to 1350°C, resisting scale formation in air, nitrogen, and carbon dioxide atmospheres better than most stainless steels.
Resistance to Carburization & Nitridation: The high chromium and aluminum content creates a barrier against intergranular penetration by carbon and nitrogen, making it ideal for heat treatment furnaces.
Good Mechanical Strength: Maintains creep rupture strength up to 1093°C and exhibits excellent fatigue resistance in thermal cycling conditions, such as those found in industrial furnaces.
Moderate Corrosion Resistance: Resistant to nitric acid, organic acids, and molten salts, though it is not optimized for highly reducing or chloride-rich environments (use Inconel 625 or Hastelloy C-22 instead).
